Dear students, have you ever been attracted by the melodious and melodious sound of "guqin"? Have you ever been curious about this musical instrument that has been mentioned frequently in poems and plays and carries thousands of years of culture? Now, we are happy to share with you an opportunity to deeply understand and learn Guqin!
The "Guqin Learning Program" at Qian Mu's Former Residence has been running for 12 years. Through this program, we offer free Guqin lessons to current students, passing on the elegant and profound beauty of traditional culture and allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the cultural concepts of traditional music. Here, we will:
◆Touch history with your own hands: experience the feeling of dialogue with the ancients, and feel the resonance between your fingertips and the strings
◆In-depth study of Guqin culture: not only learning playing techniques, but also understanding the ideal connotations behind Guqin
◆Meet like-minded friends: communicate with other young students who love traditional culture and music, and make friends through music
◆Participate in the elegant gathering activities: The elegant gathering of students at the end of the semester gives you the opportunity to show what you have learned and experience the charm of ancient literati gatherings
The course is taught personally by Chen Changjing, a senior guqin master. Teacher Chen is not only highly skilled, but also good at transforming profound guqin knowledge into easy-to-understand content, so that every student can easily master the essentials. Whether you are a beginner of Guqin or a fan who wants to improve your skills, here is the learning content suitable for you:
– New students will learn classic introductory pieces such as “Xianweng Cao”, “Xiangjiang Yuan”, and “Autumn Wind Lyrics”
- Ex-students can arrange their study content according to their individual level

1. 🕰️ Time: September to December 2025, every Saturday 14:00-16:00
2. 📍 Location: Classroom 504, Qinpu Building, Taipei City University (Boai Campus)
3. 👥 Target: Students in national high schools, colleges and universities, and graduate schools (including exchange students)
4. 🔔 Cost:
◆ New students: deposit of 3,000 yuan (refundable at the end of the course)
◆ Former students: Tuition fee is 3,000 yuan (from the third period onwards, please pay it to the instructor yourself, non-refundable)
◆ Renting a piano: a deposit of 3,000 yuan and a rental fee of 3,000 yuan (please pay it to the teacher or the piano store by yourself. The deposit will be refunded when the guqin is returned, and the rental fee is not refundable)
5. 🔢 Quota: This session is fully booked (Announcement on August 5, 2025) (Registration for the 26th session is scheduled to open in February 2026, with piano lessons starting in March!)
6. 📝 Registration method: Submit [Proof of Enrollment], [Copy of Identity Card] and a short essay [Motivation for Learning Piano]
7. 🎓 Attendance requirements: More than two-thirds of the entire period must be attended, please consider your time arrangements carefully

※In order to give more students the opportunity to be exposed to the art of guqin, the funds for the "Guqin Learning Project" of Qian Mu's former residence are fully subsidized by the "Sushulou Cultural and Educational Foundation", and the first two courses for new students are free of charge. Starting from the third period, students can contact Guqin teachers on their own to continue learning. Qian Mu’s Former Residence does not charge or handle any fees, hereby declare.
