They incorporated their attachment to the soil of their homeland, their admiration for the mountains and rivers, and even their anxiety about the changing times into the pauses and rhythms of their brushstrokes and the rhythm of their verses.

These works, a fusion of poetry and calligraphy, are "travel maps of the landscape" bequeathed to us by our ancestors. Lukang literati depicted pastoral life, adapting to the weather and enjoying wine and conversation. Chiayi calligraphers portrayed Bazhang Creek as a dancing river of life, echoing the distant clouds of Yushan. In the minds of Yilan poets, Guishan Island is not only a wonder of the sea, but also a cultural landmark that bears witness to the rise and fall of history and carries a sense of nostalgia. One traveler even embarked on a three-year journey across Taiwan, documenting the local culture and landscape of one hundred scenic spots in quatrains and running script.

At 2:00 PM on August 30, 2015, the Qian Mu Residence was honored to invite Professor Chen Zhangxi, a renowned contemporary poet, calligrapher, and scholar, to join us in reconnecting with Taiwan's mountains, rivers, cities, and towns through calligraphy and poetry. We look forward to joining you in appreciating scenery that cannot be captured by a camera—rediscovering the collective emotions, life memories, and cultural souls embodied in those familiar landscapes, and rediscovering the "meaning of landscape" for our journey.

📆Event time: August 30, 2021 (Saturday), 2:10 PM – 4:00 PM

🏡Event location: Classroom C508, 5th Floor, Qinpu Building, Boai Campus, Taipei City University (No. 1, Aiguo West Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City), online courses

👨‍🏫Activity speaker: Mr. Chen Zhangxi

🔔Activity fee: free

🚀Online course information:
After the course starts, the live broadcast URL will be announced on the "Qian Mu Former Residence YouTube Channel" and the "Qian Mu Former Residence FB Fan Page".
