Mr. Mingdao, an acting scholar in the Song Dynasty, once said: "I am very respectful when writing. It is not about good calligraphy, it is just about learning.”. However, since it is not about writing well, what is the purpose of learning writing? After personally recognizing it, Mr. Yangming replied: "The ancients only studied in their minds anytime and anywhere. This mind was shrewd, and good calligraphy was also included in it.”.
Mr. Qian Mu has a profound knowledge of Neo-Confucianism of the Song and Ming Dynasties, and his calligraphy handwriting reflects this concept. When Mr. Wang writes, he doesn't pay much attention to the copying of glyphs and brushwork. For him, this is a "heart-to-heart" dialogue. He integrated his temperament, ambition, and life insights into the poems of previous sages, and his writing followed his heart, making every word contain his thoughts and sincerity. Calligraphy reflects his heart like a water mirror. Therefore, although Mr. Wang is not a calligrapher, the charm of his scholar's calligraphy is still sincere and moving, allowing viewers to feel his life history and spiritual realm.
This year marks the 34th anniversary of the death of Mr. Qian Mu. At that time, the Su Library was closed for renovations, and we took this opportunity to allow the calligraphy works exhibited in the museum to go out of the former residence and meet more friends. Mr. said: "Writing is movement, focusing on writing is tranquility; do not write well, this is without desire, but true tranquility. Such a life is a life of art. If you can have art in your life, you can settle down and enjoy yourself.”. In contemporary society, people's busyness and pursuits seem to have no end. We hope that through Mr. Qian Mu's calligraphy and the connotations in his poems, we can experience the "harmony" mood of Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties, which is "nothing at the center" and "relaxed and tranquil" between the summer wind and autumn flowers.
The exhibition was unveiled on August 30, 2013. At 10 a.m. that day, we invited Professor Liang Shuyuan from Taipei City University to[Su Shu Yi Mu Qing: Qian Binsi's "Poetry Notes of Six Neo-Confucian Schools" expresses tranquil feelings]Special lectures will be held on this topic. We sincerely invite you to visit Taipei City University Boai Campus on August 30th. In the "Lin Yang Hall" on the third floor of the library, I listened to Professor Liang expound the spirit and charm of Mr. Qian Mu's humanistic poetry of "integrating theory into poetry", "pragmatism and sincerity", and "relaxation and tranquility". Traveling across time and space, I felt this " Life is a joy!”
