This year, "Meeting the Bazhilan Cultural Ecosystem" in Qian Mu's former residence once again invites everyone to step outside together, read the local literature and history of Shilin, and feel the common memory of local life! Remember teaching outdoors as a kid? Just like that, bring a water bottle, your favorite snacks, and hook up with your dear friends to listen to the short stories of Bazhilan and enjoy the joy of hiking!
In Bazhilan, a land with a long history of cultivation, the "temple" is not only the spiritual stronghold where the Han people in Dutai live, but also the perfect crystallization of traditional culture, beliefs, aesthetics and craftsmanship. When we talk about Shilin, we cannot fail to mention these ancient temples. Today, the "Shennong Palace" in Shilin Old Street and the "Cixin Palace" in New Street are the "living history" of the place. Together with the "Huiji Palace" in Zhishanyan, they are known as the "Three Majors of Shilin". "Ancient Temple" is like the guardian of time, witnessing the changes of this land.
This year, Qian Mu’s Former Residence is honored to once again invite Mr. Jian Youqing, a senior researcher and host from the Shilinzhuang Literature and History Studio, to present a unique "Temple Street Reading" tour for everyone. Following in the footsteps of Teacher Jian, we will start from the busy MRT station, walk sideways through the red brick alleys full of history, explore the forgotten stories in the carved railings and painted buildings, and rediscover the cultural roots and origins of Shilin. Historical aesthetics!
