"Qian Mu's Former Residence" has been officially closed for renovations since June 1, 113, and has been temporarily closed to the public.The project is expected to take two years. During this period, "Qian Mu's Former Residence" will go outside the museum to continue to inherit traditional culture. Lectures and activities that carry forward Mr. Qian Mu's spirit and thoughts will also be held. Friends, please take care of and give us advice!

Some friends may be curious, why does it need to be closed for renovation? In fact, the "Sushu Building", which was completed in the 57th year of the Republic of China, has been in existence for nearly a decade. In the 109th year of the Republic of China, the Cultural Resources Committee of the Taipei City Government registered "Qian Mu's Former Residence" as a memorial building due to his academic and educational contributions. Therefore, the city government promoted a restoration plan based on the concept of the "Cultural Assets Preservation Act". The teacher often said: "Being able to make friends through the ages and making friends with the ancients is one of the greatest joys in life. If you can understand the differences between people of different eras, you will be able to transcend the era, be open-minded, and not be constrained by the era.”. We hope that by maintaining the building, everyone can continue to visit the owner of "Su Shulou" in the future, as if walking into a time tunnel, and experience Mr. Binsi's "untiring learning, tireless teaching" and "unpleasant joy" "About" the scholar's life.

Mr. Qian once said that when we commemorate a person, thing, or thing, we are actually artizing our lives. Whether it is an ancient day or a long-standing figure, when we think of him and feel something about him, at that time, the personal ego is integrated into the cultural ego, and we can transcend time and space and carry out the development of life. Experience and even resonate with the nature of heaven and earth.
This time, the day we officially closed: June 1st, which happened to be the day when Mr. Qian Mu moved out of "Su Shulou" many years ago. On the eve of moving, the ninety-six-year-old gentleman was still struggling to finish his last article. Although the article is concise, he said to his wife: "How can academic thought be evaluated by the length of words, and how can it be expected that everyone can understand it and agree with it? For those who don’t understand, even if you write a book to explain it, they still won’t understand. For those who understand, just one sentence can enlighten them to new knowledge. I am old and it is not easy to come up with this invention. It is beyond my ability to do further research, and I can only wait for those who come after me to continue their efforts. I am confident that someone will know me in the future. Let him explain it to me when he comes!"
We look back on the present and believe that "someone will know me in the future" has come true. The next sentence is waiting for everyone to work together!

The world is impermanent, life will eventually grow old
God's way is good, and humanity is fortunate to continue
