The "School for the Elderly" is an activity of Qian Mu's former residence to practice the concept of "Live Learning". There are courses with different themes every month. Such as: international new knowledge, tourism life, history and culture, art painting, aerobic rhythm, health knowledge, etc., invite university teachers or professional lecturers to teach, with rich and colorful content. Four classes a month, one class per week, easy and stress-free, and free to attend. It is our social responsibility and goal to let senior friends "life is learning, and learning is health care"!

In this fast-paced era, looking back at history can bring us unexpected enlightenment. In this series of senior lectures, the highly acclaimed teacher Li Yifeng will lead us to deeply explore four key moments in modern China, revealing details that are often overlooked in history textbooks and providing us with a new historical perspective.

"🌱The past and present life of the Kuomintang: the transition from revolution to governance"
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the Chinese nation faced an unprecedented existential crisis. In these turbulent times, can impassioned action alone change the trajectory of history? This lecture will give you an in-depth understanding of the development history of the Kuomintang. We explore the little-known behind-the-scenes stories that reveal how pure revolutionary fervor gradually transformed into practical statecraft. As we will see, the evolution of history is far more complex than imagined.

"🔥Paris Peace Conference and the May 4th Movement: The Awakening of National Consciousness"
On May 4, 1919, students from Peking University took to the streets chanting "Fight for sovereignty abroad and eliminate national traitors at home", launching the first large-scale student movement in modern Chinese history. We will explore the underlying reasons behind this movement: As a victorious country, why was China treated like a defeated country? More importantly, we will analyze the differences in thinking between strong and weak countries and understand how these differences have affected China's destiny.

"🌟Zeng Guofan's Way to Success: The Extraordinary in the Ordinary"
Zeng Guofan was not talented, but was often described as "dull". However, it was such a seemingly ordinary person who eventually became a rare Han official in the Qing Dynasty. We will explore how Zeng Guofan overcame his own disadvantages through tenacity of willpower and pragmatic attitude, and finally reached the pinnacle of power. What wisdom can we glean from his experience that still applies to modern life?

"🎭The Real Taiping Rebellion: The Rise and Fall of the Utopian Dream"
The Taiping Rebellion is regarded as an important factor leading to the fall of the Qing Dynasty. We will trace Hong Xiuquan's journey from the Guangxi uprising to the occupation of Nanjing, and explore why the Taiping Rebellion achieved such great success in a short period of time; and why the Taiping Army still ushered in its ultimate failure after occupying the prosperous Jiangnan region. What enlightenment can be given to us by re-examining the successes and failures of the Taiping Rebellion?
